I am running WAMP 2.0 now under Windows XP and would like to upgrade to the latest version (2.1.1). Do I have to uninstall WAMP 2.0 before?
If yes what do I need to back-up? |

Yes. The safest way to go is backing up your www folder and your databases (by creating a dump from phpMyAdmin).
After uninstalling, make sure to reboot. If the new WAMP installer complains about Apache or MySql being installed on your system, see http://www.e-novative-forum.com/article10.htm for a solution. We are currently in beta phase of WAMP 3.0 which will not have this problem any more. We hope to be able to deliver incremental upgrades for WAMP 3.0 in the near future. |
