I thought others might find this helpful.
I installed a new version of The GIMP today, and its installer complained about conflicts with /docbook/bin/iconv.dll and /docbook/bin/libxml2.dll. I let it rename them (it appends ".off" to each filename), and The GIMP worked fine. I then tried eDE, and it, naturally, didn't seem happy. I renamed the two dlls to their original names, and eDE now works. I then started The GIMP, and it, too, seems happy. So there doesn't seem to be a conflict. If I were to install The GIMP again, I think I'd tell it not to rename the eDE dlls. |

Thanks Bill Had been getting an irritating error message at start up saying that the system could not find the libxml2.dll file. Followed your steps above and al seems to be working fine. |
